Tantra Year Training

Module 1

Level One Training

  • Go beyond the limitations of your ego

  • Let go of control and become alive

  • Restore the relationship with your body

  • Feel connection and love

  • Let your vital energy flow

In Module 1 we will lay a strong foundation for Tantra study, practice and for living our life from a Tantric perspective. We will explore what it’s like to be aware and at the same time fully engaged with life.

We will explore how we can find peace inside whilst at the same time be fully intimate with all aspects of life. No withdrawal in the Himalayas or on your meditation cushion, but engaging with life as it is.

Module 1 sets a trustful base for the rest of the Year Training to unfold.

The context of Module 1

In essence the one experience is no better or worse than the other - as humans we add judgement to our experiences. We evaluate everything into Good, Bad or Neutral. This makes us dependent on circumstances; we’re constantly trying to make things good and better in order to be happy.

Although it’s understandable that we want to be in control, it takes a whole lot of our energy and blocks the free flow of our life. In trying to manage life according to what we believe it should be like, we start to miss freedom, we feel contracted and tensed, numb or disconnected.

In Tantra we don’t use this understanding to cover our feelings, our pains, our habitual patterns, our fears, our projections, our bliss…. We start with acknowledging that we are humans and that we have projections and emotions and that we grasp onto nice experiences and reject the nasty ones. This all needs to be seen, felt and explored. But the question is: What is happiness and how does trying to gain it block our aliveness?

With curiosity, love and gentleness we practice how to be present moment to moment. We move through life knowing that we have an opportunity to be connected, open, compassionate, abundant, still and spontaneous.

We connect with both the simplest of things and the most intense; we are with the ever changing vibrancy, the mystery of life.

What will be our focal point?

  1. Awareness practice  - how to sit and let everything arise and subside?

  2. The ego structure - why do we act the way we do and how can we live beyond the limitation of the ego?

  3. Feelings and emotions - how to be with anger, sadness, fear and numbness?

  4. Aliveness - how to be truthful and engaged?

In exploring these themes we will work with meditation, breath, inquiry, writing, visualisation, sharing and contemplation.
