Frequently Asked Questions

I have no experience with Tantra, can I join one of the House of Being events?

You are welcome to join our Level One Tantra Training and/or our Tantra Intensive for Women without any experience with Tantra.

However, some experience with meditation and/or personal development is recommended. You can always book a free call with Mirjam if you’re having doubts whether the program is right for you at this moment.

A prerequisite for our Level Two Programs is a foundation in Tantra and/or another spiritual lineage. If you didn’t participate in one of our Level One events, it’s advisable to get in touch with one of the trainers, before signing up.

All in all, we can imagine that you want to get to know our teachers and the way they work first before you decide to participate in one of our events. Particularly in Tantrik work it listens very closely how the program is rooted and offered. You are warmly welcome in one of our Intro to Tantra Workshops in Amsterdam.

Will there be nudity involved in the programs?

In our Introductory Workshops or Level One Tantra Training we will never ask you to work with nudity.

In our Level Two programs we might invite you to work with the naked body. Your naked body is then a symbol for ‘nothing to hide’, for naturalness, openness and connectedness.

At any time, you are free to choose whether you want to explore nudity.

I do not have a partner; can I join your Tantra events?

In essence the Tantrik Path is an individual spiritual journey that leads you to the realization that you are whole, spontaneous and connected. You don’t need a partner to land in your natural state and live a more intimate, free and joyous life.

From a spiritual perspective you can do duo- and/or group practices with anybody; it makes no difference with whom you practice in order to experience deep intimacy and connectedness.

However, it can be valuable to come with (an)/your (occasional) partner. In relating many beliefs and patterns lie in the way of spontaneous being. It can be a beautiful and life changing experience to walk the path together. Shining light on whatever obstructs truthful relating and enjoying a deep intimate human relationship that flows forth from your natural state of being.

If I join one of your programs, will I be obliged to participate in every practice?

When you are joining one of our programs, you are always free to choose whether you want to participate in a practice or not. In fact, it can be a valuable and important experience to say ‘no’ to an exercise.

However, if you notice that it is fear holding you back from participating – fear of confrontation, fear of someone crossing your boundaries, fear of making a fool out of yourself – it might be of great worth to step into the field of practice. Meeting your fear and taking care of yourself, while being in the midst of the triggers.

At House of Being, creating a safe space is of the highest value. This does not mean that we offer a beautiful space where you will not be triggered, but it means that we offer a safe space in which every part of you, no matter how ugly or strange it’s appearance, can come into the light. Holding space for all these parts of you will gradually allow you to be whole, natural and free again.

What is the optimal route if I want to explore Tantra at House of Being?

If you are new to Tantra and/or to House of Being, you can get to know us and the way we work via an Intro to Tantra Workshop. It listens closely in Tantra how the work is offered, so we advise you to come and taste our view.

After doing an Intro Workshop, the most profound and easy way to integrate Tantra in your life is via our Tantra Year Training. More information about this all encompassing Training you can find here

All modules of our Tantra Year Training can also be taken seperately.

What is the difference between Couples Coaching and a Private Workshop for Couples?

People coming for Couples Coaching most of the time encounter psychological patterns limiting their relationship. In a coaching trajectory they want to explore themselves, their shadows and the relationship in a deeper way from a Tantrik perspective.

A Private Tantra Workshop is mostly booked by couples who feel the desire to fresh up and/or deepen their relationship. And for some the duration of the sessions and/or the more celebrated character of the private workshop is of importance.

I have few financial resources, but I do want to join; what to do?

To keep the programs accessible, we offer our events at a competitive price (for individuals inclusive of 21% Dutch VAT). Generally we do not give discounts. By choosing to invest in a Tantra program you will feel the importance of Tantra in your live. Committing to the path, also financially, can be an act of love for yourself.

However, we don’t want financial challenges to prevent anyone from participating. You can always contact our support manager Heather if you want to discuss paying in installments.

Another option is to do a crowd funding. If you truly want to participate but you have few financial resources, you might consider doing a little crowdfunding campaign amongst people in your environment. Most of the time friends, relatives and acquaintances feel honored if they can contribute to the rich personal development process of a loved one. By reaching out to people around you, you also acknowledge and honor your desire to live from a more loving and free space, which will always ripple out and serve everything and everyone around you. In this way, finding financial support becomes a beautiful commitment to yourself and others.

I don’t speak English very well; is it possible for me to join?

Our programs are offered in English or Dutch depending on the composition of the group.

If you don’t feel comfortable with the English language, you can choose a native Dutch speaker for a duo-practice. And sharing in your mother tongue is an option at any time.

When you feel insecure or uncomfortable around using another language you have a powerful opportunity to practice. Allowing yourself to feel and bring in your shame or fear….that’s precisely what the work is about. You are always invited to be real, without needing to mask yourself.

What is the average group size of the events?

At House of Being we work in small groups; large enough to create safety and small enough to make it more personal.

The group size of the trainings, intensives and retreats varies from 8 to 16 participants. In the Intro to Tantra workshops the groups are slightly bigger; most of the time around 20 people.
