Why this Masterclass?
As humans we try to control our lives in order to prevent ourselves from being in pain, discomfort and unease. If discomfort arises, we don’t listen to its message, but we try to get rid of it as soon as possible.
If we have a headache, we take an aspirin. If we are afraid or depressed, we seek distraction. If we feel restless or stressed, we work even harder.
Why do we bother so much about uneasiness? Why do we fight it instead of working with it? How can we be with discomfort without being overrun by the feelings?
We all know that most of the time you can’t make it disappear. You can suppress difficult feelings for a while, but in the long run they will resurface.
Fighting it causes even more tension and suffering, while embracing it and relaxing in it takes out the needle - maybe the sensations are still present, but they will lose their overwhelming and constricting aspects.
What are we going to do?
From an early stage in life we were taught to get rid of discomfort. In this Masterclass we explore how we can relate to it in a different way.
We will use several ancient and proven techniques for this exploration. This Masterclass provides an experiential opportunity to be with uneasy thoughts and feelings. We will not dive in the underlying theory too much. You will experience your resistance and your ability to adjust and relax mainly on a physical and energetic level.

You will learn how to coach your clients in a more effective manner. Most of the time your clients are straining themselves to get rid of the unpleasant situation they are in. Trying to change might become a new stressor. As a professional you can guide your clients towards relaxing and embracing their current situation, creating an environment in which deeper psychological patterning can be explored and long lasting behavioral change can take place.
Your teachers
Kris Zwemmer
Kris holds a master in Human Movement Science and is a lecturer at the Inholland University in the Netherlands. Mainly focused on individual health consultation by using movement and breathing as interventions.
Recently he started his own company where he guides people into a deeper understanding of their own body and energy system. By applying self-exploration people can understand how they respond in certain stressful situations.
Kris combines a deep understanding of science with a warm-hearted, driven and reliable way of coaching. Always curious and open to what makes people tick.
Mirjam Maëla
Mirjam holds a master in Psychology and is trained as a coach specialised in working with language of the body. For 20+ years now she studied and practiced Dzogchen (Tibetan Buddhism). Nowadays her main interest lies in Śaiva Tantra, studying and practicing these profound teachings with Hareesh Christopher Wallis and Daniel Odier.
Mirjam is both a lecturer on Psychology and Behavioral Change at the Inholland University in the Netherlands as well as a coach and trainer on meditation and tantra. She offers courses, workshops and retreats (on- and offline) in English and Dutch.
